Secure software is the first line of defense against cyber attacks
(Little Rock, AR) – August 6, 2018 – Mainstream Technologies issued an advisory today alerting custom software users of the need to add security testing to their software development. Data from Forrester Research, Inc., a global research and advisory company working with business and technology leaders, shows that 32% of external cyber-attacks occur through a web application attack.*
According to Jeff Byers, Vice-President of Software Solutions at Mainstream: “One cannot assume that legacy software has been subjected to security scanning. Mainstream has integrated software vulnerability scanning as an additional quality control test on top of the standard functional and operational testing. We will also be launching new cybersecurity services including one that alerts current and previous software customers when legacy software may need security testing and mitigation.”
