LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (June 16, 2022) – Mainstream Technologies, an Arkansas-based technology services company offering custom software development, will work with the Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC) to help make communities safer by updating and significantly improving the state’s sex offender registry. Key improvements will include improved search functionality, timely relocation updates, and on-demand reporting to allow the agency to work more efficiently and identify issues quickly.
“Software should work for individuals and agencies, especially those working to keep people safe, not get in the way,” said Mainstream Technologies Vice President of Software Solutions Jeff Byers. “ACIC is a great partner that works hard for the people of Arkansas and we look forward to sharing our specialized experience improving functionality for vital government software and reporting systems like this and making them run more efficiently.”
Mainstream Technologies was selected for the project based on its extensive expertise successfully delivering similar custom software development projects, including projects improving state agency software in South Dakota and Colorado. When complete, the updated database will improve communications between ACIC, registered sex offenders, law enforcement agencies and the public, resulting in safer communities across the state. New features will include the ability to search offenders by location or jurisdiction as well as more efficient and timely updates when a registered sex offender relocates. The project will also make law enforcement agency information assessments more efficient and timely by adding on-demand reporting functionality, allowing faster responses and significantly contributing to improved public safety.
“We knew we needed a company with a strong background who could upgrade complex infrastructure critical to public safety,” said ACIC Director Brad Cazort. “With their track record of deliverables and team of highly-skilled, senior developers, we entrusted Mainstream with these systems integral to the public safety of the state.”
